Safely Share Our Spaces - Prevent COVID-19 Exposure

ETCParksTrailsCOVID-19.png

Our community members are on the trails and visiting parks, maintaining their health and wellness!! Be encouraged and continue to use our local trails and parks and at the same time, make every effort to slow any possibilities of COVID-19 exposure.

We’re seeing unprecedented usage and increase in individuals at trail-heads and areas within parks where people tend to gather. Places where trail-heads, segments, or sidewalks meet can create inadvertent interactions with others. Let’s be reminded to circumvent these situations at all costs, in order to avoid unintended contact with others and exposure to COVID-19.

Once in a park, or on a trail that is congested with individuals, remove yourself from the area, wait for clearance, visit another park, or trail, or wait for another time. Turn back and leave if you realize you are in an area where you cannot maintain a social distance of 6 feet, or more that is safe.

Our local parks, trails and community spaces continue to serve as places where our community members can find relief and restoration. These spaces are needed now more than ever! The Evansville Trails Coalition, the Evansville Department of Parks and Recreation and many partner organizations are working to keep trails and parks safe during this difficult time.
